Obituary

Beloved mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, treasured sister, aunt and friend to many, Theodora Q. “Teddy” (Rouse) Shobe, age 74, passed away December 29, 2020 in Marshall, Texas.  She was born on January 5, 1946 in Long Beach, California to Alan Sylvester Rouse and Murle (Newman) Rouse.  Theodora is preceded in death by her son, Monte Mullins; her husband, Jerry Shobe, and her parents, Alan and Murle Rouse.  She is survived by her children, Christy Mullins, Ginger and Mike Gillespie, Pepper Mullins and Debbie “PeeWee” Sherrod; grandchildren, Dustin Wittman (Jennifer) and Shay Lynch (Tracer), Dawn, Rachel, Adam, Kathy, Cristal, Paul, Emily, Ben Julia, Mark, Adam, Rachel, Paul, James, Sarah, Joseph, Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Emma Wittman, Brody Wittman, Abigail Wittman, Charity Wittman and Graham Lynch and numerous other great-grandchildren; brother, Perry Rouse (Nellie); nephew, Michael Rouse; nieces, Brenda Armstrong and Sandy Coles; her 4 legged fur-baby, “Barbie”, and her best friends, Orlinda Soto, Lonetta Docken, Barbara Moreland, Beverly and David Blackwell and Sandy and Chuck Potter.  She is also survived by numerous other family members and friends who knew and loved her. Teddy’s uncle founded the LA Cab Company and she spent her childhood years going to school in cabs.  Her mother managed many Greyhound stations for years.  Teddy loved to play cards and dominoes and was active in the card club on Saturday night with Sandy and Chuck Potter.  Teddy was an expert seamstress and also a wonderful cook.  She loved bacon and would try to work it into every meal.  Teddy loved reality TV and could name all of the actors.  She loved to shop with her girls and loved the camping trips to Mexico with her husband, Jerry, where they spent a week every month.  Teddy was the very best mom and grandmother and would do anything in the world for others.  Her gifts always smelled like her and she was known for saying “Pretty is as pretty does”!  She was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  A Memorial Service will be held for Teddy on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 1:30pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home.  A time of visitation will follow the service from 2:00 to 3:00pm.    Online condolences may be offered at www.meadowbrookfh.com
