Ruthie (Allen) Dale

August 11, 1942 ~ July 12, 2021 (age 78)

Obituary

Beloved wife, cherished mother, treasured grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Ruthie (Allen) Dale, age 78, passed away on July 12, 2021.  Ruthie was born on August 11, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana to W.G. Allen and Juanita (Pearson) Miller. Ruthie is preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Gamble; her sisters, Carolyn Lindsay and Sharon Riggs; and her parents, W.G. Allen and Juanita Pearson Miller.  She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Otis J. Dale; her children, Jackie Bush (Ricky) and Walter Dale (Julie); son-in-law, Rickey Gamble; grandchildren, Amber Cook (David), Lindsay Evans (Darla), Joshua Bush (Mariella), Meagan Britt (Jerry), Caleb Bush (Brittany), Chandler Bush (Faith), Kayman Dale and Wyatt Dale; great-grandchildren, Gracie Cook, Anastyn Cook, Peyton Evans, Shaddow Evans, Gentry Evans, Gavin Britt, Hayden Britt, Landry Britt, Mateo Bush, Sophia Bush, Chloe McCutchen, Harley Baxter and Tanner Humphrey; sister, Shirley Hardt (Chuck); numerous nieces, nephews and other special family members. Ruthie spent many years enjoying a variety of employment opportunities.  She was a store detective, worked at CVS pharmacy, drove a school bus and volunteered for anything and everything during her younger years when her health allowed. Ruthie was an all-around exceptional woman.  She was sweet and salty, spunky, feisty and lived and loved with a passion…depending on her mood.  She had a heart of gold and took those in need into her home without hesitation. She had many friends and enjoyed hobbies and crafts such as scrapbooking and gardening.  She could grow anything and loved caring for her plants and pets.  She loved her family fiercely and always treasured spending the holidays, especially Christmas, with them together.  Ruthie was truly loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation for the love and support of family friend, Jenienne Bloodworth, who sat with Ruthie the past two years as her daily caregiver.  A new friend that came into Ruthie’s life during the later years was Romina Darby, a friend she met through her hospice care.  Special thanks to Julie, Lauren and staff with Heartsway Hospice for helping during the last few weeks.  A Memorial Service for Ruthie will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 6:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home, with Bro. Harold Coburn officiating.  A time of visitation will follow the service from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meadowbrookfh.com
