Beloved wife, cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, treasured daughter, sister and friend, Rose Mary (Vasquez) Mayfield, age 67, passed away in Longview, Texas on Thursday, October 14, 2021. Fondly known as “Pinque”, Rose was born on January 2, 1954 in Ennis, Texas to Julio C. Vasquez, Sr. and Julia Ortega. Pinque is preceded in death by her father, Julio Vasquez, Sr.; sister, Andrea Barragan; and brothers, Oscar and Ricky Vasquez. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years. Robert Hynes Mayfield; children, Gabriel Lee Mayfield (Angel), Rhonda Kay Rivas (Jesus) and Nelson Ray Mayfield (Tracy); grandchildren, Gabrielle Mayfield, Matthew Mayfield, Nichole Summerville, Camren Summerville, Brooklyn Summerville and Terry Mayfield; great-grandchildren, Finn Mayfield and Ava Grant; mother, Julia Vasquez; siblings, John Vasquez, Pauline Robles (Gabriel), Edward Vasquez (Clara), Julio Vasquez, Jr., Linda Rodriguez (Javier), Willie Ray Vasquez (Benita) and Ricky Vasquez (Lorraine); brother-in-law, Roy Mayfield, as well as numerous other family members and friends. Pinque was a loving and devoted mother who also owned and operated her own successful business, “Made 2 Clean”. Her family was everything to her and she made sure they learned the skills to be self-sufficient. She loved animals and loved fishing with her husband, especially night fishing at the spillway. Pinque was passionate about her family and loved them fiercely. She was a constant source of support for them, providing guidance and discipline with her love always present. “We sure are happy we had the mother we had…even if we didn’t deserve her”. Pinque was well loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Rosary will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 6:00pm at River Crossing Cowboy Church. A time of visitation will follow from 6:30-8:00pm. Funeral Service will be at 11:00am on Monday, October 18, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery. Msgr. Zacharias Kunnakkattuthara will officiate. Serving as Pallbearers will be Jeremy Scott, Marty Mayfield, Jason Mayfield, Ricky Vasquez, Camren Summerville, Matthew Mayfield and Eddie Vasquez.
