Obituary

Riley Junior Knott, Jr., age 76, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Daingerfield, Texas.  Riley was born on February 13, 1945 in Trimble, Tennessee to Riley Junior Knott, Sr. and Stacy Carleane (McBride) Knott.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Knott; his parents; stepfather, Frank Barnett; siblings, Ancel and Cancel Knott, William Ray Knott, Della May Cosbey, Shirley Marie Knott and W. J. Knott.  Riley is survived by his son, Deano Knott; his sister, Lillian “Lil” Cowles; stepchildren, Stacy Cleveland and Tena Cleveland, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.

Riley was a talented individual and a “Jack of All Trades”.  He worked as a carpenter, mechanic, in the oil fields and as a truck driver for many years.  In his younger days, Riley loved fishing.  Riley was an outgoing and friendly man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.  He made friends easily and “never met a stranger”.  Everyone, especially children, loved Riley and he loved them right back.  Riley was a special man to all who knew him and will be truly missed.

A time of visitation will be held for Riley on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 4-6pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home.  Graveside Service will be on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 2pm at the Little Chapel at Colonial Gardens Cemetery.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meadowbrookfh.com
