Richard Wain Phillips, age 53, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 in Shreveport, LA as a result of a motorcycle accident in Waskom, Texas. Richard was born in Shreveport, LA on December 28, 1966 to Gerald Wain and Catherine Ruth (Tanner) Phillips. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Jeannette Woodman; his grandfather, William Woodman; his grandmother, Mary Katherine Phillips and his grandfather, Fred. L. Tanner. He is survived by his son, whom he adored, Cody Wain Phillips and Cody’s mother, Tara; his four legged fur baby, Gypsy; his mother, Catherine Venable; his father, Gerald Wain Phillips and his wife, Terry; his siblings, Denise Hughes and her husband, Michael, Keith Ray Phillips and Jennifer Phillips; his aunt, Barbara Peterson; his nephews, Charles Hilt and his wife, Paige, and Justin Hughes and his nieces, Christina Hughes and Meshell Hughes. Richard is also survived by his great nephews, Slade Hilt and Stetson Hilt; his cousins, Candy Dyson-Skog, Matthew Houchin, Hunter Dyson, Randy Peterson, Michael Tanner, Tony Phillips, Phillip Morrow and Sean Morrow; extended family and friends, Antoine and Jolene Treadaway, Tim Jackson, Audie, Bobby Skog, Shawn Collins, Kayla and Brandon Dominick and too many others to count who were blessed by his friendship. Richard never met a stranger, loved to travel, loved to ride motorcycles, cooking, hunting, horses, fishing, boating and working on “things”, but his true passion in life was his son and spending time with him. He worked many years as an iron worker and building rigs. Due to the current public health crisis, a Celebration of Life service for Richard will be held at a later date.
