Beloved father, cherished grandfather and treasured brother, Richard Nelson “Curly” Lyons, age 76, passed away in Waskom, Texas on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. He was born in Troy, Alabama on August 28, 1943 to Fred Alford Lyons and Myrtle Holly. Curly is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Lyons and Myrtle Lyons Knotts; his siblings, William Wade Lyons, Sr., Leo Lyons, Robert Ross Lyons, Charles Oakley Lyons, Fred Douglas Lyons, Jerry Lyons and Doris Lyons McVay; and Jeri Stewart. He is survived by David and Debbie Lyons; his grandsons, Jacob Lyons, Noah Lyons, Caleb Lyons and Adam Lyons; his sister, Carolyn Lyons Davis, of Macon, Georgia; former spouse, Linda Faye Keen Lyons, and his fur baby, Zoe. Curly proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana and the Communication Workers of America. Curly retired after 31 years of service from ATT-Bell South.
