Beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and friend of many, Phyllis Jean Murph, age 55, passed away in Marshall, Texas on Friday, June 12, 2020. She was born on July 2, 1964 in Ashland, KY to Chester and Dorothy (Waugh) George. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Dorothy George; her son-in-law, Charlie Stuart; her granddaughter, Ashley Stuart and her great-niece, Lacey Moore. Phyllis is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 28 years, David Lewis Murph; her children, Crystal Stuart and Amanda Wales and her husband, Will; her grandchildren, whom she adored, Tyler Murph, Alisa Murchison and Joseph “Tooter” Murchison; her brothers, Gary Wayne George and his wife, Betty, David George and C. Rolf Milton; and her brother-in-law, Dennis Murph. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and many friends who knew and loved her. Phyllis was hilarious and loved pranking her husband, all the while taking videos of the pranks. She was a matchmaker, loved going on cruises and her laughter was contagious but she could be stubborn and hard-headed. She loved to fish, do crafts, read books, play bingo, video poker, card games and spent many hours on her front porch playing Slot-O-Mania. She loved listening to her music, loudly, loved her friends and her family unconditionally and always had your back. She will be affectionately remembered for her many quotes, but one in particular “I don’t give a rat’s ass” was her all-time favorite. Visitation for Phyllis will be held on Monday, June 15, 2020 from 6-8pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 11:00am at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Private interment will be held at Gill Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her mother. On-line condolences may be offered at www.meadowbrookfh.com
