Obituary

Beloved mother, cherished grandmother, devoted sister and aunt, Peggy Jean Green, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 surrounded by her family.  Peggy was born on November 7, 1950 in Houston, Texas to Virgil and Opal (Strong) Green.  She is preceded in death by the father of her children, James Green and her parents, Virgil Green and Opal Green.  She is survived by her children, Cathy Green Lewis and her husband, Edward Lewis, Donna Green Cutrer and her husband, James “Dudley” Cutrer, Rhonda Michelle Green and her husband, Jeff Faulkner, Pam Green Williamson and her husband, Jason Williamson and James Michael Green and his wife, Crystal Green. Peggy is also survived by her grandchildren, whom she adored, Rayven Mott and her husband, Josh Mott, Cassidy Fuqua, Presley Weatherly, Zoey Lewis, Cody Cutrer and his wife, Michelle, Taylor Cutrer and his wife, Grace, Koy Cutrer, Chelsee Peterson and her husband, Dakota McCoy, Caleb Peterson and his wife, Ashley Peterson, Cam Coulter and his wife, Julia, Cade Coulter, Andy Vaughan, Susan Green, Craver Ty Green; her great-grandchildren, Hudson Mott, Bentley Kelly, Gabriella Luna, Matthew Cutrer, McKenzie Cutrer, Delilah Cutrer, Reaghan Young, Aedon Young, Chance Young, Parker McCoy, Porter McCoy, Caleb McCoy, Prayson McCoy, Chrisley Coulter; her sister, Carolyn Gray and her husband, Ken Everage; her brother, James “Bubba” Green; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Green and Eddie Green; her nieces and nephews, Angie Grant, Candy Copeland, Penny Gillis, Ashley Gray, Gail Richardson, Vickie Baxter, Christy Scholl, Bill Green; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Eric Kirkland, Allison Jinks, John “Little John” Grant, Jacob Kindley, Shelton Copeland, Katelynn Smith, Dalton Smith, Ethan Gillis; her close friend, Gina Stringer and numerous other family members and friends who knew and loved her.  Peggy was well known for her love of sewing, eating at the Jalapeno Tree, taking vacations, especially in the mountains, the Dallas Cowboys…win or lose…and the Texas Rangers.  But her true passion in life was her family and her grandchildren.  She cherished the time spent with them attending their ball games or any other activity which involved them.  She retired from the Jonesville Post Office and spent many years in retail sales.  A Memorial Service for Peggy will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 6:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home with Debbie Rogers officiating.  Visitation will be held immediately following the service at Meadowbrook Funeral Home.  The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Medical City Dallas Hospital and staff; Dr. Nirmal, Dr. Spillman and staff at Longview Texas Oncology; American Emergency Service for bringing Mom home to Bivins, Texas from Dallas, Texas; and to Encompass Hospice for the love and excellent care shown to Peggy during this time.  On-line condolences may be offered at www.meadowbrookfh.com
