Beloved son, grandson and great-grandson, cherished brother, treasured nephew and devoted friend, Nickolas Joseph Fottenbury, age 21, passed away as a result of a tragic accident, in Elysian Fields, Texas on Thursday, September 17, 2020. Nickolas was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 4, 1999 to T.J. and Stacie Lynne (Philhower) Fottenbury. Nickolas is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dan and Kathy Philhower, and Marlyn Fottenbury; and his aunt and uncle, Debi and Randy McIntosh. He is survived by his parents, T.J. and Stacie Fottenbury; sister, Daniele “Dee Dee” Fottenbury; grandparents, Thomas and Genie Fottenbury; great-grandparents, Ray and Mary Philhower; aunts and uncles, Michelle and Tim King, Kim and Jason Philhower, and Angela Armstrong; cousins, Zachary, Joshua, Brandon and Brooklyn; his 4 legged fur baby, “Chopper”, as well as numerous other family members. Nickolas was a 2018 graduate of Elysian Fields High School where he played football. After graduation, he worked at Dollar General in Deberry and also in Waskom. Nickolas attended New Hebron Baptist Church where he was active in the youth programs and activities. He absolutely loved Ohio State and enjoyed playing chess with his Mom, playing cards and going to bonfires. Nickolas loved traditions and all of his family’s gatherings. There are people in this world who ask so very little…and add so very much. Whose presence is always noticed and absence is always felt. Who quickly become a brother and always remain a friend. When such a person leaves us, they take a piece of our heart with them, but give back the memories, the laughter, the smiles, the stories, the experiences and countless ways they enriched and changed our lives. Nickolas Joseph Fottenbury was such a person. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for Nickolas will be held from 6-8pm, Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home with Bro. Wyatt Harris officiating. Interment will follow the service at Elysian Fields Cemetery.
