Maxine Lacy Johnson

June 4, 1938 ~ September 28, 2021 (age 83)

Obituary

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Our beloved, Maxine Lacy Morris Johnson, born June 4, 1938 to the late Thomas and Alberta Horton Lacy.

Maxine was born in Harrison County and worked as a medication aide at Marshall Manor.  She loved the Lord and read her bible daily.  At an early age, she joined True Vine Baptist Church and later she attended Zion Hill Baptist Church.  She returned back to True Vine Baptist Church where she served as Secretary of the church and sang in the choir.  She was a graduate of H.B. Pemberton High School.

Maxine entered eternal rest September 28, 2021.  She is preceded in death by her husbands, Dave Morris and Erroll Johnson; her parents; siblings, Thomas Lacy, Jr., Elizabeth Strawther, Willie Fred Lacy and Jessie Sidney; and uncles, Willie “Bo” Horton, George Stotts and Clarence Stotts.  She is survived by her children, Marilyn Spencer (Dwight), Earnestine Berryman and Maxine “Dolly” Morris; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends who loved her dearly. 

A time of visitation will be held for Maxine on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 1:00-2:00pm at True Vine Baptist Church.  Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm. Interment at Rosehill Gardens.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meadowbrookfh.com
