Beloved wife, cherished mother and grandmother, treasured aunt and friend, Marva Lea (Howell) Evans, age 70, passed away in Longview, Texas on Friday, October 1, 2021. Marva was born on July 23, 1951 in Decatur, Indiana to Harlie Loyd Howell and Lea Ella (Wilson) Howell.
Marva is preceded in death by her parents, Harlie and Lea Howell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ivan Mumford Evans and Audrey Dimple Evans; siblings, Perry Howell, Robin Goodale and Ricky Howell, and brother-in-law, Edward Evans. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 52 years, Kirby Lloyd Evans; her daughters, Keri Dawn Weaver (Steven) and April Lea Roberts (Sam); grandchildren, JoLea Kay Roberts, Dusty (Emily) Weaver, Brooke Weaver and Blake Weaver; nieces and nephews, Cory Howell (Alicia), Casey Howell (Rosie), Rhory Guttirrez (Clint), Cody Howell (Elisa), Dallas Goodale, Matthew Howell, Terry Evans (Tammy), Scott Evans (Amaliz), Beth Huddleston, Joanna Slate (Michael), Lea Ann Price (Jeremy) and Shelby Kornegay; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry Goodale, Brenda Howell, Carolyn Evans, Martha Ray and Myrna Kornegay, as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Marva was a graduate of Marshall High School and was employed for many years with Sears, Sullivan Funeral Home and Hawthorn Life. She loved horses and attending sporting events, especially the girls’ softball games. Marva loved the Lord and was truly dedicated to her church. She was well loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A time of visitation will be held for Marva from 6-8pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Marshall Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be at 10am on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Marshall Missional Baptist Church with interment to follow at Algoma North Cemetery. Bro. Jeremy Bowers, Casey Howell and Jerry Goodale will officiate and serving as Pallbearers are Sam Roberts, Steven Weaver, Lane Phillips, Clint Guttirrez, Terry Evans and Scott Evans. Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Howell and Cody Howell.
