Beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, brother and friend of many, Lewis Dale Simpson, age 61, passed away at his home in Marshall, Texas on Thursday, May 21, 2020 surrounded by his family. Dale was born on January 28, 1959 in Shamrock, Texas to Lewis Harold and Loretta (McLemore) Simpson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Harold and Loretta Simpson; his brother, Daniel Wayne Simpson; and his grandparents, Carlos and Viola McLemore and Walter Franklin and Ruby Lillian Troxell Simpson. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 42 years, Amy Rilene (Muncrief) Simpson; his daughter, Ericka Dawn Simpson; his son, Heath Alan Simpson and his wife, Sara; his grandchildren, whom he adored, Camden Heath Simpson, Hudson Gray Simpson, Parker Alan Simpson, Cadence Rilene Moneymaker, Berkley Anne Simpson; his sisters, Carla Jo Simpson Gaither and her husband, Cecil “Bo”, D’Anna Gonzales and her husband, Ernest; his brother, David Wade Simpson and his wife, Debbie, many other family members and friends who knew and loved him. Dale loved cowboys, horses, guns, the shooting range and particularly enjoyed deer hunting and dove hunting in the Texas Panhandle. He wholeheartedly supported the NRA, our military and he loved America. Dale was the historian of the family. He loved geneology, tracing family history and was known for his ability to state family names and events with complete accuracy. He worked for Sid Richardson Carbon Black, retiring after 30 years. Dale and Amy lived in Fritch, Texas for 30 years where he served as the president of the school board, and was very active in Little League Baseball and Basketball. He loved coaching and dedicated many hours of his time and talent to the community during their life there. Dale loved his Lord, his family and the time spent with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Duh”. He was a member of the Fritch Church of Christ in Fritch, Texas where he served as a Deacon before moving to Jefferson, Texas. In 2014 Dale and Amy moved to Marshall, Texas where they attended Eastern Hills Church of Christ. Dale’s life was well lived, he was well loved and he will be fondly remembered for his kind heart and giving spirit. Funeral service for Dale will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 6:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home with D. W. McLendon officiating. Visitation will be held immediately following the service on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 4:00pm at Shamrock Cemetery, Shamrock, Texas with Dusty Johnston officiating. Pallbearers will be Cecil Gaither, Jr., Corey Gaither, Brandon Gaither, Alex Brown, Preston Farmer, Daniel Simpson, Nick Simpson, Andy Simpson, Trey Farmer and Garrett Farmer. In consideration of the current public health crisis, social distancing and face masks are requested.
