Beloved father, cherished grandfather, and treasured friend to many, James Lee Waskom, age 55, passed away in Marshall, Texas on Thursday, March 19, 2020. He was born on August 14, 1964 in Marshall, Texas to James Royce Waskom and Laurie (Elwood) Waskom. Lee is preceded in death by his parents, James Royce and Laure Waskom. He is survived by his daughters, Brittany Waskom and Colby Ponder (Gene), and their mother, Suzanne Waskom; grandchildren, Jaxon Minatrea and Presleigh Ponder; special friend, Debbie Freeman, as well as many other dear friends. Lee was a 1982 graduate of MISD and also attended Kilgore College. Lee worked for Pirkey Power Plant for 37 years. He was a machinest and an amazing welder who was known for his awesome ability. Lee was also an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, duck hunting and deer hunting. Lee also loved his Rangers and Cowboys and always enjoyed hosting a cookout. He was well loved and will be genuinely missed by all who knew him. A Visitation for Lee will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Graveside Service is Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Cave Springs Cemetery at 5:30pm. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Hudson, Billy McWhorter, Ricky Morris, Gene Childs, Dale Haney and Keith Bynum.
