Kenny Elliott departed this earth into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 4, 2020. This was possible only because Kenny accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at the age of thirteen. Kenny went on to spend his entire adult life being a witness for his Father in Heaven and lived his life daily to reflect this. He had a huge heart for missions and witnessing the love of Christ all over the world. His travels took him to many places but the ones that stood out the most were spent in Kenya, Romania, Hawaii and Myrtle Beach. Kenneth Allan Elliott, Jr. was born on August 2, 1966 in Madison, WV, to his parents, Allan and Peggy Elliott. He moved to Marshall at the age of two. He attended Marshall Public Schools and graduated from Marshall High School in 1984 where he was a member of the first-ever MHS Varsity Soccer team. He was a proud 1989 graduate and alumni member of The University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. While in college, he was a member of the fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon, Campus Crusade for Christ and the Ole Miss Rugby team. Kenny loved his Ole Miss Rebels and supported them in every sport and attended as many events in Oxford as possible. He was a very proud Rebels football season ticket holder. Kenny had a great love and appreciation for musical theater and often traveled with his best friend, his mom, to see countless musicals. He loved his family with deep emotion and much pride, especially his four nieces who adored their “Uncle Bub” fiercely. Kenny’s work experience included being on staff with Athletics in Action/CRU, East Texas Baptist University and, at the time of his death, he worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. He was a tissue donor, which, keeping with how Kenny always enjoyed doing for others, will be used to help countless people in times of health needs. He is survived by his parents, Peggy Elliott and Allan Elliott; his sister, Leslie Scrivener and her husband, David; Niece, SaraAnne Clark Smith and her husband, Eric; and great nieces, Ashley, Addilyn and Ellie Grace. Kenny’s family has been comforted by the many nice tributes written about Kenny. A couple we’d like to share with you that describe him very well said, “He was a loveable, crazy, fun-loving, unpredictable guy…best of all Kenny loved Jesus and still pursued him even when it was hard”. Another stated, “Kenny sure helped to populate Heaven and we are certain he has already heard God say, “Well done my good and faithful servant”. Memorials may be made in Kenny’s name to The Texas Rebel Scholarship Endowment (memo Kenny Elliott Memorial), University of Mississippi Foundation, 406 University Avenue, Oxford, MS 38655; Mobberly Marshall Missions, 101 W.
