Obituary

Beloved son, husband, father, brother and uncle, James Alan Massey, age 57, passed away in Jefferson, Texas on Saturday, January 25, 2020.  He was born on December 22, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas to Jimmie Massey and Bonita Folsom.  James is preceded in death by his mother, Bonita Folsom and survived by his parents, Jimmie and Mary Massey; his wife, Sherry Massey; children, Joshua Alan Massey, Tabitha and Phillip Hamilton, D.J. Salley, Travis Salley and Amber Salley; sisters, Shannon Clements, Leonda Michelle Blackburn and Rhonda Joyce McReynolds; brothers, C.W. Evans and Ronnie Evans; nephews, Mickey Massey and Michael Blackburn; niece, Jessica Blackburn, as well as three great-nephews and three great-nieces.  He worked as a carpenter for many years and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting at the deer lease.  He also enjoyed fishing and spending precious time with family and friends.  James will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 2:00pm with a time of visitation following the service from 3-5pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meadowbrookfh.com
