Beloved father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather and treasured uncle, Jack “Jackie” Hayner, Jr. age 78, of Henderson, passed away in Jefferson, Texas on July 5, 2021. Jackie was born on August 26,1942 in Marshall, Texas to Jack Hayner, Sr. and Orene Fults.
Jackie is preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, April Hayner. He is survived by his children, Ty Hayner, Parrish Payton, Stacy Hayner, Marty Hayner, Bryant Hayner, Paige Hayner and Lee Conlin; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Mollie, Cody, Taylor, Drew, Trista, Natalie, Liam, Alexis, Tara Leigh, and Tommy Lee; several great-grandchildren; and his sister, Brenda Moon Carlock.
Jackie was saved and baptized at the age of 12 at Karnack Baptist Church. He graduated from Karnack High School where he was an outstanding athlete in all sports. He grew up in the family’s business, Hayner’s Grocery Store, which had been in the family for 132 years. As an adult, he owned the store for several years before it was sold in 1993. After the store sold, Jackie made his living hunting, fishing and guiding on Caddo Lake. Caddo was in his blood and a huge part of his life. He was also known to be an excellent card player and truly enjoyed playing. He was a generous man who loved people and was always delighted to entertain with a fish fry. Jackie was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
A time of visitation will be held for Jackie on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 5:00-7:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be at 11:00am on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Andrews Cemetery in Karnack, Texas with Joe Cox officiating. Online condolences may be offered at www.meadowbrookfh.com
