Hollis Earl Vaughn

February 20, 1928 ~ March 30, 2022 (age 94)

Obituary

On March 30, 2022, Hollis Earl Vaughn, born February 20, 1928 in Ozark, Arkansas, was called to his heavenly home by his Heavenly Father on the wings of accompanying angels.  Waiting to welcome and join Hollis was his dear daughter, Kathy and her husband, Larry Seaman; his parents, Ernest and Velda Vaughn; brother, Gayle Vaughn; brother, Seldon Vaughn and his wife, Genie; sister, Betty Sparks and her husband, Gerald Sparks; granddaughter, Marisha McClelland; great-grandson, Isaac Seaman; brother-in-law, James Holland, and extended family members and multitudes of friends.

Hollis is survived by his wife, Y’Vonne Holland Vaughn; daughter, Lynne and husband Gary Marshall, and Nita Simmons; son, Terry Vaughn and wife Nanette Vaughn; sister, Hilda Jones; sister-in-law, Audra Vaughn; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Henry Holland and wife Shirley, as well as numerous spiritually adopted sons and daughters, too many to list.

Hollis proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for two years.  He went on to work in Alaska and returned to Beaumont where he worked for Mobil Refinery, Raymond Joines Fence Company, Morgan Insurance and also served as a Minister.

Hollis enjoyed woodworking, singing, building guitars and playing in USO bands during his time in Alaska.  He also enjoyed working on cars (back when you could) and restored a Ford Mustang with his son, Terry.  Hollis was a craftsman in many areas. He taught his daughter, Nita, to lay tile and helped to finish her home.  While Hollis had many interests, his priority was spending time studying the Lord’s word, praying and seeking the presence and peace of his spiritual Father.
