Beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, sister and friend, Frances Marie (Longino) Elliott, age 76, passed away in Karnack, Texas on Thursday, August 13, 2020. She was born in Coushatta, Louisiana on December 21, 1943 to Ruffin George Pleasant and Opal Aletha (Bryant) Longino. Marie is preceded in death by her parents; her sister Jackie and brother Roby; and parents-in-law, Dr. James Elliott Sr. and Dorothy (Durr) Elliott. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 ½ years, James John Elliott, Jr.; her children, Frances Marie Robles and Dr. James John Elliott, III; her grandchild, Zoie Marie Robles; her sister, Elaine Cloud, as well as numerous other family members. Marie was a graduate of NWSU and taught for 10 years before opening the Summit Nursery School (“Your Child’s Choice”) in Shreveport, Louisiana, which she operated with her husband for 38 years. Marie was the embodiment of determination and thankfulness; having been raised in a meager household, Marie appreciated everything. Marie also understood that the most valuable gifts were those from the heart, not necessarily of monetary value. Marie was so proud of both her children and their accomplishment of completing their college educations. Marie had a love of animals and of Yellowstone National Park. She visited the park over 40 times and especially enjoyed the Morning Glory Pool. At home, Marie loved to mow! She was so overjoyed when she once won a lawnmower from Lowe’s. Marie had a true servant’s heart, was extremely gentle, kind and giving. Her entire life was in giving, until she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Marie was well loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
