Evelyn Collins, 88, of Woodlawn, formerly of Marshall, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Longview. Evelyn was born September 23, 1933 in Bettie, TX to Lenard R. Green and Georgia A. Bradley Green. She was a seamstress at Blue Buckle and worked at KFC during it’s early years in Marshall. Evelyn had a great love for music and also enjoyed going dancing when she was able. Her sons and a few of their friends had a band and Evelyn was nearly always there wherever they played. She absolutely loved to hear them play. She loved her family tremendously and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. Evelyn is preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Herbert Collins; her second husband, Morton J. Colvin; son, Ronald Collins; daughter-in-law, Mona Collins; and grandson, Michael Collins. She is survived by her sons, James Rickey Brown and Jackie Collins (Terry); grandchildren, Heath Brown, Trevor Brown-Adams, Jackie McBride, Scotty Collins, Roger Neal, and Lynn Stapleton; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2022 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Cave Springs Cemetery with Bro. Joe Hall officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Gibbons, George Shields, Kenneth Shields, Johnny Green, Johnny Frazier, and Marshall Police Department and “Old Guard”.
