Beloved husband, cherished father and grandfather, and treasured brother, Elmer Gene Nance, age 78, passed away in Marshall, Texas on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Elmer was born in Charleston, Arkansas on March 27, 1942 to Elmer A. Nance and Dora (Shaver) Nance. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Dora Nance. Elmer is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy “Dee Dee” Nance; his sons, Stephen Nance and his wife, Monica, Blake Nance, and Sam Nance and his wife, Shonda; grandchildren, Stephanie Nance and Sidney Nance; sister, Donna Regan; brother, Jim Nance and his wife, Renee, as well as a host of other family and friends. Elmer graduated from Louisiana Tech as a Chemical Engineer and moved to Marshall in 1968 to work for Atlas Chemical and retired in 2002. He was a longtime member of the Harrison Investment Club, American Chemical Society and served as the District Commissioner of Boy Scouts of America. Elmer was also an avid motorcycle rider and loved camping and touring the United States with Biker Buddies. Elmer was well loved and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Visitation will be held for Elmer on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 3pm to 5pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home.
