Eleanor Ruth (Wells) Briggs
Obituary
Eleanor Ruth Wells Briggs went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2023. She was born on June 15, 1932 to John Monroe and Fontanna Isabell Williamson Wells. She worked 28 years at the Thiokol Ammunition Plant and served the Harrison County Research library for 20 years as a genealogist and historian. She also served as secretary of the Church of the Nazarene. A beautiful soprano, she sang in the church choir.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven and David Briggs. She is survived by Timothy Briggs and Jon Mark Briggs. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Baily Briggs Atchley, Stephanie Briggs King, Kevin Briggs, Samantha Briggs King, and Brittney Briggs. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was a phenomenal lady who will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Lions Club Community Center on Sunday, February 5 at 2:00pm.
