Obituary
Elbert Ritter, 89, of Jefferson, Texas died on Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Rowlett, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 10:00-11:00am at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Graveside Service will follow the visitation beginning at 11:30am at Mims Cemetery.
Elbert was born on Sunday, July 23, 1933 in Missouri to the late Albert Ritter and Dollie Smith Ritter. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Clara Ruth Nelson; and brothers, James, Donald and Wayne.
Elbert served in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. Elbert enjoyed being out on his boat in the open water crappie fishing. He also enjoyed working on cars and rebuilding engines.
Elbert is survived by his sons, Carl Wayne Stephens, Bobby Stephens, Elbert Ritter, Jr. of Vernon, Texas and Clayton Ritter of Oklahoma; daughters, Delores Winkle of Winnsboro, Texas and Kathy Shields of Harrisonville, Missouri. He is also survived by Irene Stevens of Jefferson, Texas, Annie Strayhorn of Copeville, Texas and Ruby Box of Jefferson, Texas; and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his little companions “JR” and Sandy.
