Beloved husband, cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather and treasured brother, Denver Ray Murph, age 88, passed away in Marshall, Texas on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Denver was born in Marshall, Texas on March 2, 1932 to A.L. Murph and Frankie Lee (Sharp) Murph.
He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Phyllis Murph; great-granddaughter, Ashley Stuart, great-great-granddaughter, Trinity Idle; father, A.L. Murph; mother, Frankie Lee Murph; stepmother, Leanna Wall Murph; and siblings, A.L. Murph, Lillie Telano and Vicky Telano. Denver is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Betty Jo (Davis) Murph; his children, David Lewis Murph, Dennis Ray Murph and Carolyn Gross (Donald); his grandchildren, Crystal Stuart, Amanda Wales (Will), Benita Zona (Luke), and Harold Montgomery (Stacey); great-grandchildren, Tyler Murph, Alisa Murchison, Joseph Murchison, Hannah Zona, Lucas Zona, Samantha Idle (Derek), Brayden Montgomery, Dylan Montgomery, Layla Whyth, Nicholas Montgomery and Autumn Montgomery; great-great-grandchildren, Mia Zona, Grayson Zona and Jadon Idle; his brother, Marvin Murph, as well as numerous other family members.
Denver was a member of First Assembly of God. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and enjoyed a 45 year career as a truck driver for Bogue Lumber Company, Thiokol, TX DOT Highway and then retired from DSI in 1996. Denver loved fishing with his mother, but after her passing he never fished again. He enjoyed watching television…his favorites included “Hee Haw” and the Dallas Cowboys football games. He loved listening to gospel music, especially by Jamie Devlin and Daren Vinson. Denver was well loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

A Visitation will be held for Denver on Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 6:00-8:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 3:00pm on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home with Bro. Micheal Richard officiating. Interment to follow at Gill Cemetery.
