Obituary

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Celia Ann Castillo, age 83, of Owasso, OK and formerly of Bartlesville, OK, died on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at St. John Medical Center in Owasso.  She was born in Henderson, TX on September 25, 1937 to E. Chester and Ruby L. Cain.  She grew up and received her education in Henderson, TX and Marshall, TX.  She graduated from Marshall High School in 1955 and attended Baylor University in Waco, TX.  In 1956, she married Wayne VanDeventer and together they had three children, Scottie, Tisha and King.  They were married for 15 years and remained lifelong friends.  In 1977, she married Alton Castillo and they had one daughter, Revel.  Celia traveled the world and loved crafts, playing cards, reading, dominos, Mexican food and sweets.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her son; King VanDeventer; her great-grandson, Tristen Jackson; and her husband, Alton Castillo.  Celia is survived by her daughters, Scottie Anton and her husband, Mike of Uncertain, TX, Tisha Ford and her husband, Ron of Jefferson, TX, Revel Castillo-Simon and her husband, Andre of Owasso, OK; her daughter-in-law, Renee VanDeventer of Karnack, TX; her sisters, Becky Sharp of Marshall, TX and Katie Elliott of Ft. Worth, TX; nine grandchildren; four bonus grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.  A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home in Marshall, TX with Dr. Danny Warbington officiating.  A Memorial Service will also be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville, OK.  On line condolences may be offered at www.meadowbrookfh.com
