Beloved mother and sister, Carolyn Jean (Green) Capps, age 86, passed away in Marshall on Friday, June 17, 2022. She was born in Marshall on June 21, 1935 to Duke Roland and Hazel Power Green. Carolyn attended and graduated from Marshall High School. On June 10, 1972, she married the love of her life, Alonzo “Bo” Capps and together they raised two girls. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2017. She is also preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Betty Harris Green. Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Denise Capps, Christy Lewis and her husband, Claude; one brother, Roland Green; other family members and her sweet furry friend, Jenny. She loved to help her husband in their garden. With the help of her treasured girls, she spent many days canning and freezing their garden produce. She loved to sew and cook and most days she enjoyed cooking three, hearty meals per day for her family. Carolyn loved the Lord and attended church at Summit United Methodist Church until her health deteriorated. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the nurses, aides and therapists at Marshall Manor West and Heart to Heart Hospice for the love and care they extended to Carolyn. They always went above and beyond their duties in making sure she was taken care of and she loved them in return. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 10:00am at Summit United Methodist Church with Rev. Dick Dobbins officiating. Visitation will be held immediately following the service and burial will be at Algoma North Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
