Obituary

Cherished father and grandfather, beloved partner, treasured brother and friend, Carlton Cordell Geneux, age 67, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Carlton was born on December 29, 1954 in Shreveport, Louisiana to John Norman and Myrtice Geneux.

Carlton is preceded in death by his parents, John and Myrtice Geneux; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Stephenson her husband, EA Stephenson, Jr.; brother-in-law, David Strickland; and China’s mother, Cheryl Geneux.  He is survived by his daughter, China Foster and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Aidan and Kyleigh Foster; sister, Sandra Strickland; the love of his life, Cheryl Denney; his fur babies, Ernie and Shadow, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Carlton attended high school in Shreveport, Louisiana but always considered Marshall his “home”.  He was a people person who never met a stranger. Carlton truly enjoyed his profession as a hairdresser which allowed him the opportunity to get to know his clients.  He loved motorcycles, animals and gardening, but his greatest passion was his family that he loved fiercely. Carlton was well loved in return and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
