Obituary

Beloved mother, devoted grandmother, cherished sister and aunt, Beverly McNair Cook, age 74, passed away in Longview, Texas on Sunday, November 7, 2021.  She was born on August 4, 1947 in Kemp, Texas to John McNair and Edna McNair.  Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, John Michael Cook, whom she married on October 8, 1976.  She is survived by her daughter, Laura Davis Wall and her husband, Jerry; her son, Kelly Cook and his wife, Heike; her grandchildren, Ashley Filippazzo and her husband, Joseph, Brooke Parker and her husband, Justin, Ashley Alton and husband, Rick, Colton Wall and his wife, Taylor, Jacey Siau and her husband, Bailey, Brandon Cook, Aaron Cook; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Aaron, Jace, Eden and Davis.  She is also survived by her brother, John McNair and his wife, Janis; her sister, Jan Henry and her husband, Jim; her beloved nephews and niece, Harrell McNair and his wife, Lauri, Jeff Henry and his wife, Elizabeth, Julie Gravley and her husband, Robert; other family members and many friends who knew and loved her.  Beverly dearly loved her friends and the staff at Reunion Inn Assisted Living and the day surgery staff at GSMC Marshall. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and loving care Beverly received from them. Beverly was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the young age of three and spent most of her childhood at Children’s Medical Hospital.  From that time, she never experienced good health, but was determined to live a full life in spite of her medical diagnosis.  She was a fighter to the end of her life, surrounding herself with love, laughter, pranks and a great, witty personality.  She was extremely intelligent, working as a contracts coordinator for the Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture Program at Texas A & M University for over 32 years.  Gig ‘em!  She loved the holidays, especially Thanksgiving, loved sweets, a good hamburger and shopping. Good grammar was always important and she had been known to correct her family and friends if needed.  She spent many years playing cards, board games and watching Jeopardy.  She was an avid Methodist and loved the Lord.  Beverly enjoyed Pastor Ray Wilson and Dr. David King’s services while she was at Reunion Inn Assisted Living. Her true passion in life was her family and the time she spent with them. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed by her love and her life.  Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00pm on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Summit United Methodist Church.  Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Summit United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Wilson and Rev. Dick Dobbins officiating.  Interment will be at Algoma North Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Beverly’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org) or the Marshall Pet Adoption Center (2502 E.
