Former Freeland, MD resident Augusta Diana Holmes Stockhausen, 65, died February 19, 2021 at her home in Texas.
Diana was born on April 28th 1955, in York PA to Roy and Betty Holmes.
Diana was a great friend and fearless Mother, who loved and lived life to its fullest. Diana was known for wisdom beyond her years, being a great listener and confidant, and dispensing sage advice. She never met a stranger. She loved her children beyond measure, both biological and the children of her heart. She loved to travel and could often be found at the ocean or in the mountains. Her favorite homes over the years were in Freeland, MD and the state of Colorado.
She had a variety of interests, and was passionate about animals. She was particular to song birds and raised finches, as well as ran a non-profit canine rescue, sheltering dogs of every shape and size from Terriers to Great Danes. Later in life, she began running a small farm and raised miniature Hereford bulls, goats, and a variety of poultry and fowl.
Diana is survived by her Husband, Edward J. Stockhausen Sr., her Mother, Betty Holmes, and siblings, Roy G. Holmes, Joanna Holmes-Garcia, and Stephen Holmes. Additionally she is survived by her children and their spouses as well as her grandchildren. Gabrielle M. Stockhausen-Baran, Michael A. Baran, Edward J. Baran, and Gabriel J. Baran. Edward J. Stockhausen, Jr., Casey M. Miller, and Sarah E. Stockhausen.
Celebration of her life and legacy will take place at the end of April in Diana’s hometown of Freeland, Maryland
