Beloved mother, cherished grandmother and treasured great-grandmother, Allie Chadd Duncan, age 87, passed away in Jefferson, Texas on Monday, November 1, 2021. Allie was born on November 16, 1933 in Harleton, Texas to John Harrison Chadd and Johnnie Bell (Cuff) Chadd. Allie is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth Duncan; brother, Bo John Chadd; sister, Norma Simmons, and nephew, Allen Simmons. She is survived by her children, Kyle Duncan (Sharon) and Karen Verhalen (Michael); grandchildren, Summer Verhalen Martinez (Tim), Kip Duncan, Whitney V. Palka (Randy) and Dusty Duncan (Courtney); great-grandchildren, Maddox Martinez, Mia Palka, Mason Martinez, Ian Palka, Lola Duncan, Parker Duncan, Kaden and Kyla Duncan and their mother, Beth; “adopted” daughters, Tracy Duvall and Donna Lovelace, as well as numerous other family members and many friends. Allie taught Sunday School for the two year old class at Summit Methodist Church for over 60 years and was a lifetime church member. She loved the Lord and her church family. Allie also loved being at home with her family and loved to feed everyone in the neighborhood, where she was fondly known as the “Mayor” of Merritt Street. She used her exceptional organizational skills to help with wedding planning, church functions and keeping the neighborhood yards mowed on the same day…seeing to it that Kenneth did it! Allie was well loved and will be truly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Magnolia Place for their kindness and care of Allie. A time of visitation will be held for Allie on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 5-7pm at Summit United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be at 10am on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Summit United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Rev. David Luckert will officiate the service.
