May 6, 1956 ~ January 8, 2018 (age 61)
Devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, Donna Gale (Rankin) Sallee, age 61, passed away at her home on January 8, 2018 surrounded by her family. Donna was born on May 6, 1956 in Linden, Texas to M. G. and Doris (Powell) Rankin. She is preceded in death by her mother, Doris Rankin; two infant brothers, Tommy Glenn and Lonnie Clyde; her grandparents, Lonnie Rankin, Mattie Rankin, and Clyde and Gladys Powell. Donna is survived by her husband, John Daniel "Danny" Sallee; her daughters, Shawn Bailey, Kimberly "Nikkie" Sallee and her husband, Antwone Richardson, Stephanie "Dee" and her husband, Anthony Davis; her son, John Sallee and his wife, Holly; her grandchildren, Cody, Sierra, Hunter, Seanna, Conley, Kimber, Alissa, Aubree, Beau, Jolee, Tanner and Jase. She is also survived by her father, M. G. Rankin; her brother, Mark Rankin and his wife, Marie; her nieces and nephews, Daphne and her husband, Thomas, Wesley, Chelsey and numerous other family members and friends. On November 16, 1984 Donna married the love of her life and they celebrated 33 years of marriage. Donna worked many years at Marshall Hospital as a registered nurse. She was a member of the Marshall Elks Lodge #683 and thoroughly enjoyed the people, times and events at the Lodge, but her true passion in life was her family. She dearly loved being around her children and all the grandchildren. Each birthday was celebrated in a big way with the entire family participating. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 6:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Rustenhaven officiating. Visitation and Reception will be held immediately following the service at 7:00pm. Interment will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2:00pm at Shelton-Rankin Cemetery in Hughes Springs, Texas with Rev. Butch Landers officiating. Pallbearers will be John Sallee, Antwone Richardson, Anthony Davis, Thomas Lay, Wes Rankin, Jamie Dutton, Ricky McDow and Jesse Zamora. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Marshall Homecare and Hospice for the love and care given to Donna and the entire family during her illness.
