William "Bud" Marecek

May 19, 1932 ~ August 14, 2019 (age 87)


Beloved father, cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, and treasured brother, William “Bud” Marecek, age 87, passed away in McKinney, Texas on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.  Bud was born in Port Arthur, Texas on May 19, 1932 to William Henry and Vlasta (Matulik) Marecek.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Billye Marecek and his parents.  Bud is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Yaeger (Steve), Sandye Smith (Curt), Darlene Stephenson (Sonny) and Lisa Cavazos; grandchildren, Shannon Broadway, Kelly Stephenson, Cody Stephenson, Ryan McDaniels and Rachael Harrison; great-grandchildren, Jonah, Ella, Ty and Katie as well as his sister, Sherry Marecek.  Bud served proudly and with honor aboard the USS Frank Knox (1951-1955) during the time of the Korean conflict.  After his military service, he worked to put himself through college and received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.  Bud’s primary career was with the U.S. Government in the Defense Logistics Agency.  Bud was a quiet, honorable man who lived up to his commitments without complaint.  He was dependable and generous without fanfare.  We loved him and will truly miss him. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Episcopal Church of the Savior in Allen, Texas with Father D.J.
