Beloved mother, cherished grandmother and devoted friend, Tommy Joyce (Maxwell) Jordan, age 67, passed away at her home in Waskom, Texas on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. She was born in Vivian, Louisiana on August 23, 1952 to Thomas Oscar and Ethel Julia (Ethridge) Maxwell. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Oscar and Ethel Julia Maxwell; and her brother, whom she adored, John Ethridge Maxwell. Tommy is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Phan (Hai); her son, Joseph Maxwell Jordan (Julie); her grandson, Hai Thanh Phan, whom she affectionately called “Junior”; her best friend, Mary Abel and numerous other family members and friends who were blessed by her friendship. Tommy was one of the very first licensed females in the state of Louisiana as a pipefitter and worked for over 20 years for General Motors before taking an early retirement. In her younger years, she loved to fish and hunt. She loved to read and was a collector of all things, but her true passion in life was her only grandchild, “Junior”. She loved spending time with him. Tommy was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and attended Bethany Baptist Church. Funeral Service for Tommy will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 3:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home.
