Mark Anthony Updyke, age 33, passed away in Longview, Texas on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at his home. He was born on November 9, 1981 in Fort Hood, Texas to Jason Mitchell Updyke and Maritza Joanna Parker. Anthony is survived by his beloved children, Gabriel Anthony Updyke, age 10 and Kasen Tyger Updyke, age 5. He is also survived by his cherished mother, Maritza Parker; his father, Jason Mitchell Updyke; his cherished sister, Arielle Summers; and his stepdaughters, Jaycee Walker and Jonie Walker. He is also survived by his aunts, Penelope Coble, Gail Cook and Terry Vinson; his cousin, Vandy DuBree; his grandmother, Barbara Updyke; his uncle, William Allen; two nieces, Jazlyn Spencer and Luceni Spencer; one nephew, Henry Chestnut; his half brother, David Updyke; his half sisters, Dinia Sarkady and Billie Ann Valdez and his best friend, Chandler Reed and many other friends and family members. Anthony is preceded in death by his grandmother, Lometa Snelson; grandfather, David Oliver Updyke; great-grandfather, Oliver Updyke; great-grandmother Bernice Updyke and two uncles, Johnny Mark Snelson and Rick Vinson. Anthony loved to fish and play video games. He graduated from Pine Tree High School and received his Masonry Certification as the youngest to graduate in his class. He was currently employed with Fowler Transportation as a crane operator. Anthony loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by all those he leaves behind to cherish his memory. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home with Bro. Billie Brewer officiating. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens in Kilgore, Texas.
