He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne VanDeventer; his grandson, Tristen Alexander Jackson; his maternal grandparents, Chester and Ruby Cain; his paternal grandparents, FC and Bertha VanDeventer; and his stepmother, Melody VanDeventer. He is also survived by John Booth, who he loved as his son and many other family members and friends who were blessed by King’s life. King worked many years as a contractor building lake houses and boat docks, in addition to working with his father at W. K. Fish Company. He loved hunting, fishing, crawfish boils, old classic rock and roll music, and the many years of gathering of friends and family at “The Tree” where the fire, fun and friendship was shared by all. He loved gardening, baiting trout lines and all things Caddo Lake provided, but his true passion in life was his family, his wife, his girls and his grandchildren. He was a kind, gentle giant who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held at Meadowbrook Funeral Home on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 5-7pm.
