George "Val" Valadijia

June 10, 1930 ~ March 19, 2018 (age 87)


On March 19, 2018 Retired U.S. Air Force MSgt. George "Val" Valadijia, 87, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mr. Valadijia was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to Nicholas and Mary Valadijia who immigrated to the United States from Serbia in 1905. He is survived by two sons, Chris and David, three grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Marion; his two brothers, Nicholas and Elias and his two sisters, Josephine and Mary. He was a longtime resident of Marshall, Texas, and before he was incapacitated, he was very active in his church, as well as in other community services. He was much loved by his family, and will be greatly missed by anybody who knew him. He will be laid to rest with his wife at the Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana in a private ceremony.
