G.E. "Judge" Armstrong

June 26, 1940 ~ July 6, 2019 (age 79)

Devoted father, beloved grandfather, cherished brother and friend to many, G. E. “Judge” Armstrong, age 79, passed away in Marshall, Texas on Saturday, July 6, 2019.  He was born on June 26, 1940 in Tatum, Texas to J. C. and Christine (Waldrop) Armstrong.  Judge is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Geneva Armstrong; his brothers, Infant Boy Armstrong and Tommy Armstrong.  He is survived by his sons, Wes Armstrong and his wife, Rebecca, David Armstrong, Jason Armstrong and his wife, Jacki; and his son’s mother, Delores Armstrong.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, whom he adored, Dylan Armstrong, Jace Armstrong, Gage Armstrong, Blake Andrews and his fiancée, Reese Sloan; siblings, Jerry "Tap" Armstrong and Carolyn Neely; his nieces and nephews, Christy Bouzek, Tina Glaze, Kipper Glaze, Tim Harris; several great nieces and nephews and many friends who knew and loved him.  Judge spent most of his life working as a pipe fitter and welder.  He loved to fish, loved his beer, loved racing and mud boggin but he was his happiest when he was agitating someone.  If he ever found anything that provoked a person, he was all over it…every, single time he was close enough to push that button, he made sure he did.  Not a single friend was ever safe from his agitating personality.   Judge’s life was well lived and he was well loved by many who were blessed by his friendship.  Visitation will be held at Meadowbrook Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 6-8pm.  Funeral Service will be held at Meadowbrook Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11:00am with Pete Sellers officiating.  Interment will follow at Waldrop Cemetery in Fairplay, Texas where he will be laid to rest in his family plot.  Serving as Pallbearers will be Butch Covey, Blake Andrews, Keith Wells, Chili Valentine, Tim Harris, Bubba (Kipper) Glaze and Frankie Tamplin.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Gage Armstrong, Jace Armstrong, Dylan Armstrong and Lynn Wilson.  The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Traditions Health Care, Jesi Mitchell, Heather Loupee, Dianne Taylor, Tammy Rogers and Wayne Norvell.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Judge’s memory to Shriners Hospital or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  On line condolences may be offered at
