Richard Gaulden, Owner-Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer
Richard is a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer and has over 34 years experience in arranging funerals. During this time he has served thousands of families. His career in the funeral profession began at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas where he was a funeral director for 28 years prior to coming to Marshall in 2009. He is very involved with many community events serving as one of the Leaders for Leadership Marshall, Booster Club, Lions Club, Chamber Ambassador, serves on the Board of Directors for Marshall Chamber of Commerce and is a member of First United Methodist Church in Marshall. He married Melinda and her children, Sara, Billy and Charlie in 1997. The highlight of his life is being "Papa" to their only grandchild, Lexi. Richard and Melinda bought Meadowbrook Funeral Home in April, 2014 and are very happy to live and work in Marshall, Texas.
Sara Ann Thompson, Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer
Sara graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1997 and began her career as a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. During the last 18 years,she has served hundreds of families during a difficult time and feels very honored to help them through the loss of a loved one. In 2015, Sara married Jeff Thompson, who is also a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer. She is very happy to be in Marshall, Texas and enjoys her full time job at Progressive Chiropractic Clinic in Marshall, while helping as a funeral director with her family business when needed.
Curtis Smith, Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer
Curtis has over 45 years experience as a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, serving most of his career in the St. Louis, MO area. He and his wife, Sandye have one son, Shannon. Curtis is very experienced in restorative art and takes great pride in being able to present the family with a comforting memory of their loved one.
Tracy Jackson, Funeral Home Manager
Tracy has over 12 years experience with Cemeteries and Funeral Home responsibilities. He and his wife, Samantha, have three children, Tristan, Amiya and Logan. Very involved in our community, Tracy feels the quality of service and care he provides to each family is vital to our organization. He serves as an Ambassador with the Marshall Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of Marshall Main Street and is a volunteer firefighter with Nesbitt Fire Department, and is a member of the Harrison County Firefighters Association.
Charles Callaway, Funeral Service Assistant
Charles has been a resident of Marshall, Texas his entire life. He has over 10 years experience in assisting with visitations and funeral services. He is dedicated to the families we serve and enjoys helping others when there is a need. He and his wife, Evelyn, enjoy spending time with family and their trips to Shreveport.
Brenda Abraham, Funeral Service Assistant
Brenda is a lifelong resident of Marshall and loves working with people. She is employed full time at Bancorp South Bank and assists with visitations and funerals during the evenings and weekends. She is a dedicated, compassionate employee who loves her town and helping those during a difficult time.
Gail Palmer, Funeral Service Assistant
Gail is a retired teacher from MISD and enjoys her time helping others as a funeral service assistant, working visitations and funerals. She has a compassionate heart and is able to minister to those in grief. She is a member of First United Methodist Church. Gail and her husband, Clarence enjoy spending time with their family and friends.

Melinda M. Gaulden, Owner/Funeral Director/Embalmer
Melinda and her husband, Richard purchased Meadowbrook Funeral Home in April, 2014 and feel very honored to be serving the community of Marshall. She has 20 years experience in the funeral industry, graduating from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1997. She and her daughter, Sara Thompson, were in Mortuary School together and have worked together periodically their entire career. In 1997, Melinda and her children, Sara, Billy and Charlie married Richard Gaulden. She is blessed with one beautiful granddaughter, Lexi Mitchell. Melinda has served on the Marshall Chamber of Commerce Board, Twelve Way Foundation Board of Directors and is a member of Marshall Lions Club, Rotary Club and First United Methodist Church. She feels very blessed to be able to help families during a very difficult time in their life. She loves her community and loves the funeral profession.
